To coordinate a window of time for your inspection, please call 760-770-0340 between 7:00-7:30 a.m. the day of your inspection. We highly recommend using this service as you will speak directly to your Inspector. We no longer post inspection results.

Inspection Tips

  • Ensure the address is posted on the job site and is clearly visible.
  • Have the issued Permit or Plan (Inspection Record) on-site for the inspection. The approved plans and calculations/reports must be on the job site for all inspections.
    NOTE: Any deviation or changes to approved plans must be submitted and approved prior to the inspection being done. REMEMBER – NO PERMIT OR PLANS – NO INSPECTION.
  • Inspections that require access to interior spaces will require the property owner or an adult representative to be present during inspection.

Reinspection
When calling in for a reinspection, please state that you are calling in a reinspection and provide the inspector’s name. The Building Department had adopted a policy of having the same inspector, when practical, who wrote the correction notice to perform the reinspection. The purpose of this policy is twofold;

  • To prevent a second inspector from making another list of correction(s); and
  • The inspector who wrote the correction notice knows the exact correction(s) to be made and how they were to be accomplished.

After the second scheduled inspection for the same corrections , a reinspection fee may be charged.

The Building & Safety Division hopes that the above information is helpful to all applicable parties. The goal is to save time by notifying you of our step-by-step inspection process, and hopefully, also reducing the need for reinspections.
