When an employee applies for a loan, home mortgage, new job and/or rental qualification, any requests for verification of employment can be done two ways:

Verbal Verification

• Contact the Human Resources Office at (760) 770-0352

• Please note, without a signed authorization we can only validate information

Written Verification

• Email your forms to hr@cathedralcity.gov or send us a fax at (760) 321-4509 with the verification request.

• A signed and dated authorization by the employee is required

• Please allow our team one week for turnaround

Please note: Employment verification includes information such as job title, date of hire, and current salary. It does not include information concerning personal attributes such as an employee’s character. 

An Open Recruitment is open to all candidates, whereas a Promotional Recruitment is open to current full-time City of Cathedral City employees who are not in their probationary period.

When candidates apply for a position, the application process begins once the recruitment is closed. At this point, each application is individually reviewed for the following:

• Content (are all fields answered)
• Minimum Qualifications
• Supplemental Questions (when applicable)
• Supporting Documentation (when applicable)
