AMFM Festival and UltraStar Cinemas Film Presentation

The WallCATHEDRAL CITY, CA. – April 7, 2014. AMFM FEST: Art, Music, Film & More Producer, Film 4 Change, and UltraStar Cinemas are celebrating classic rock and film with a special screening of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and a throwback to a grand era of rock n’ rock, short film, "Ship of Fools." The films will screen at the Desert IMAX Theater in Cathedral City's Town Square. This is an incredible way to experience the music and images of this classic. The films will be shown April 11th through the 17th, with four showings each day. Tickets are $8 or $6 for those with a Coachella Fest wristband. Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Mary Pickford box office or at the Desert IMAX prior to the screenings.

The April film event kicks off this year's AMFM Fest, which will also be held in Cathedral City's Town Square. The Festival is scheduled for November 13 through the 16th. It promises to be one of Coachella Valley's premier events. Last year, the festival honored actor Viggo Mortensen, who received the Dennis Hopper Award at The Mary Pickford Theater along with Ed Asner, Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob), Peter Shinkoda (Falling Skies), Jason London (Dazed and Confused), David Zayas (DEXTER) and more. Over 20 bands performed including local bands Rebel Noise, Machin’, Pssstols, Gram Rabbit and several L.A. heavy weights as well. The festival gave a salute to art honoring photographers Craig Semetko and Scott Christopher, who unveiled his striking portrait of the late Michael Jackson.

Stay tuned for more to come over the summer months and into the fall as AMFM Fest brings together a diverse array of artists to celebrate creativity at the intersection of commerce. The goal of the event is to contribute to growing young artists and creative thinkers. Last year, bands donated equipment to the Boys and Girls Club in Cathedral City and will continue to develop a strong educational component throughout the year.
